I've been cutting felt flowers for the The Woolly Brew Felt Flower Kits.  I took a photo to post on The Woolly Brew website and used my camera.

on the view screen all the colours looked very blue - not surprising as the sky was snowy grey and the conservatory roof (my photographic 'studio') was partly covered in snow.

the camera battery died quite quickly (too many photos of Four Year Old's snowman) and then I remembered...

I have a new camera!!!

Pigeon's Pop Up Christmas Shop

shameless self promotion for my other job....

The Woolly Brew will be on sale at The Pigeon Pop Up Christmas shop.

The shop is in Murray Library, Shore Street, Anstruther and opens on Saturday 27th November and will be open every day from 10am to 6pm  right up until the 24th December.  

It  features more than 40 artists and makers, vintage, homewares, stocking fillers, hand-made Christmas workshops for all ages (and abilities), music and The Woolly Brew!

Knitting - felted shoulder bag

This time I knitted a green tweed one (the last one I did was black tweed).

I'm having trouble taking photos that give a true colour representation..... the felted one is the best one.

Cambo Christmas Fair - Sunday 14th November

The Woolly Brew will be at Cambo Christmas Fair on Sunday 14th November. 

11am - 4pm

We've put together a felt flower kit to compliment our felted shoulder bag and sundae scarf kits.

15" wide and 20" long
I've noted some felt colours and sizes.  i think I would like to add some printed cotton fabric too...
I've planned 4 gardens - simple grass, pond, vegetable and woodland.
I imagine lots of colourful (sparkly) flowers around the woodland and bushes around the pond.  Maybe a fence around the veg plot.

I think it will need some 3D items for hide and seek (bush, tree and toadstool) and I'll have some loose fish, vegetables, butterflies and ladybirds that can be moved about.

I like the idea of a movable X for treasure hunts!

I've had an idea to create a garden play mat for Four Year Old to use with her (many) dolls houses.

She's showing no interest in a crayon/writing folder so maybe this would be a winner...

I'll have to do some sketching... I'm thinking felt, lots of sparkly sequin flowers, butterflies, a pond with fishes, toadstools and apple trees...  vegetable plot? Maybe some flaps with 'rabbit holes' and buried treasure...

Sewing - Bag

I'm looking for a new bag.  Previous everyday bags have been messenger style - across the body straps.  Its handy having my hands free. But I've not found one that suits - good colour, sturdy and doesn't cost alot!  It also needs to be winter proof... or at least not look silly with my coat.

I am considering another attempt at a felted messenger bag - my first attempt turned out abit different than anticipated (given that I my wool was too big and then I ran out before the end!)

But then I saw this Lickety Split bag on Made by Rae (there is also a Flickr pool here) which looks really good but not at all what I was looking for! Am I mad to think I could handsew a (large) bag?  I could get access to a sewing machine but I would have to relearn how to use it which isn't something that interests me...

Mmmmm.

I would need 2 fabrics (the bag is reversible - although maybe not with my handsewing!)  I've seen these lovely (colourful) fabrics at Backstitch by Erin McMorris and here and Valori Wells.

I daren't look anymore... so much choice...

Sewing - Hexagons

This weekend I looked out my Hexagons and did some stitching...

I decided on 6 colours of stranded cotton and used a stab stitch, backstitch and blanket stitch around the printed flowers.

Think I'll pick out the flower centres next.
