Painting

Whilst painting with Big Girl (who is currently fascinated by colour mixing) I knocked up this little masterpiece...

this is the best thing I have ever painted. EVER. Usually when I paint the colours go muddy, my use of colour is predictable and its all very flat. But I love this picture, painted on copier paper using poster paint and a crappy brush.

I'm not entirely satisfied by the quality of the materials used (painted on copier painting using poster paint and a crappy brush) so I used my current favourite tool (Microsft Picture It!) and applied some effects...

knitting - handwarmers

My first Christmas gift is finished- for an 8 year old.

I used a Debbie Bliss pattern in Junior Knits and Adriafil Knitcol yarn which is self striping (hence the disjointed stripes...)

They look really good on, not so special lying flat...

I have added more fabric as I was running out of space. I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this piece now... Its looking abit... gaudy...

I'm also not sure how my camera is doing... are these photos out of focus? At least they don't look over exposed...

My camera is wonky...

I had thought the dodgy photo of my lopi bag was a fluke but all the photos I have taken with my camera since then are also dodgy. They seem out of focus and maybe over exposed... Have checked the settings (in case Big Girl had pressed some buttons) but I can't find anything obviously wrong. Mind you I haven't actually set any settings so I'm not sure...

I have some more knitting and some stitching updates...

Knitting - Lopi Bag

My Fulled Lopi Tote

Using 'free' wool and a quick knit pattern did make it easier to put it through a hot wash...

It came out quite well...

9.5" tall and 13" wide

I'm not completely happy with the bottom and I may put it through another wash to tighten it up. Also If I knit another one (plenty of lopi left) I will make the handle smaller.

I've started knitting a bag... a Fulled Lopi Tote

Still another 10 inches to knit.

The excitement will come when I put it through a hot wash to felt it...
